POS Enhancements

Native Barcode Scanning for Mobile Apps

The Store Commerce app now enables native barcode and QR code scanning using Android or iOS mobile device’s rear-facing camera, eliminating the need for the licensing of a third-party apps. This feature streamlines workflows for tasks such as adding items to transactions, processing returns, price checks, and inventory operations.

Streamlined Workflow for Adding Items

When adding items from the product page to the cart, a new confirmation dialog displays the list of products being added. Users can utilize navigation options to process the transaction or stay on the product page. A new configuration option has been added in the Visual search profile which can be used to bypass the confirmation dialog and take the user directly to the transaction.

Display of Store Phone Number

Store associates can now access the store’s phone number directly from the store location page in POS, including a mobile view and an offline mode. Displaying the store phone number in POS   can streamline daily tasks that involve communication within the store as well as communication between customers and internal teams.

Reset Button Grids

To ensure a consistent user experience, the default button grid is restored at the end of a transaction, reducing confusion and enhancing usability.

Configure Display of Search Results

Users can now customize the default view for displaying search results, offering flexibility and catering to user preferences. Prior to this update, the default view for search results was list view. In receiving customer feedback, namely preferring card view (especially on mobile devices), users are now able to customize this display.

Cash Management for Multiple Currencies

Cash management operations in stores now support multiple currencies, enabling retailers to manage cash across various currencies seamlessly.

Reset Receipt Numbers

Organizations that have strict requirements for unique receipt IDs can enable automatic synchronizing number sequence data, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance. The last number sequence data is retrieved from the Commerce Scale Unit (CSU) whenever POS is initialized.

POS UX Improvements

The user interface of POS is enhanced with modern design elements, including rounded corners on tiles and buttons, drop shadows, rollover elevation on product and category cards, and updated Logout screen.

Bar code scanning performance is enhanced, and product data is cached in POS for improved performance. POS makes a CSU call in the background for product data older than one hour in order to ensure that the cache is up to date with the latest data.

B2B Enhancements

Associate Distributors to Site

Users can now associate multiple channels with their respective sites simultaneously, streamlining site management and content authoring. Using the cross-channel function, users can author web pages once and make them available by default for other channels associated with the site.

Upon switching distributor channels, the product catalog selection is automatically reset, ensuring users see relevant products.

The system creates a B2B online channel associated with the B2B seller and catalogs, inventory, pricing and promotions can be controlled at the channel level. An employee record is created to grant admin members from the B2B seller access to manage orders and stock using headless commerce APIs. A customer hierarchy is generated, designed to streamline user management for the B2B seller.
